February 1st through March 31st, JFCS Book Collection tackles illiteracy with "TAKE A LOOK - BUY A BOOK - DONATE" Campaign. See flyer for details on what to donate and where to donate at JFCS, Fruitville Road.

Friday, March 17th and Saturday, March 18th, Temple Beth Sholom Freund Scholar-in-Residence featuring Dr. Alan Cooper  with theme "Reinterpreting Biblical Stories to Express Significance for Jewish Thought and Jewish Lives Today".  Schedule: Friday, March 17th, Shabbat dinner @5:30PM (RSVPs  are required by Friday, March 10th), 7:00pm Shabbat Service followed by Dr. Cooper's talk on "Why Did God Flood the World?" & Oneg. Saturday, March 18th, (9:00AM Shabbat Service, Dr Cooper's talk "Strange Stories about Moses' Sons" at approximately 11:30am  followed by Kiddush.  (See flyer for reservation form for Shabbat Dinner catered by Edibles by Ethel  ($25/Members and $30/Non-members, Children free), menu and additional information about Dr. Cooper.)  Contact Kelly Nester at 941-955-8121 or knester@templebethsholomfl.org for questions or to make reservations.

Wednesday, March 22nd, 7:00-9:00pm, Holocaust Awareness Lecture "Moving Pictures: Films about the Holocaust"  presented by Dr. Andre Krauss. $18 Must RSVP. Sunday, March 26th 9:30am, TBS Men's Club Monthly Breakfast Speaker Series: "Behind the Scenes at the Baltimore-Sarasota Orioles" featuring Mike Silverman (Orioles Video Coordinator/Advanced Scout and grandson of the late Adeline Silverman, a prominent, beloved TBS member). Conversational Hebrew / CHUG IVRI - Thursdays 10:30 am - 12:00 pm in the Library with Cheryl Cohen
